Saturday, June 6 11am-2pm is a City of Dallas/Ferguson Road Initiative party to open the spray park. Lauren Roberts (former dean of Bishop Lynch High School), Carolyn Davis, Kerry Goodwin, et al will say a few appropriate words. There will be hot dogs and drinks for park visitors.
According to our councilwoman, Carolyn Davis, the fence between Ferguson Park and Sorrento is almost finished, the curb demolition and alley widening should occur this summer, and the walking track around Ferguson Park is now funded and will be finished by Labor Day. No word on the locking, enclosed portable restroom. The City wants to wait until the walking track is completed to have an all out ribbon-cutting ceremony for the park, but Carolyn Davis and FRI decided to have this party next Saturday for the kids. Truett Area Crime Watch will adopt the park, meaning we will have a contact person at City Hall to call in if we see too much litter, things in need of repair, etc.
